The 'DE LELIE' project is located at Paardenstraatje 2-4-6 in Mechelen. This residence is a light-filled apartment with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms with terraces. Most apartments are very spacious, there is an open feeling everywhere. They meet the BEN standards and are therefore almost energy-neutral. CoGiVa thus meets the standards that will be the standard from 2021 onwards. Residence De Lelie contributes to an ecologically responsible living environment and lower energy consumption. The finishing is done with high-quality, durable materials that ensure a luxurious appearance.


At the ground level, sufficient social contact / lively functions are ensured: Transparent parking access and bicycle parking, transparent and inviting meeting space / entrance hall and commercial space. The design of Residentie De Lelie is by Mossoux Architects from Mechelen. It connects to the existing building profiles, so that the staggered facades create a unique play of volumes in the street. Much attention is being paid to the interaction between the historic urban environment and the new apartments. The project refers to an industrial contemporary architecture, in which light and vision is created between the new building and the historical residences. Mossoux Architects was founded in 1984. Their spearhead is qualitative architectures interior projects with contemporary design. In addition to new construction, they are also working on renovation projects. It is a team of enthusiastic architects and interior architects who realize projects from preliminary design up to and including completion.


The Paardenstraatje is close to the Veemarkt where livestock used to be traded. Horses were placed in the Paardenstraatje while awaiting a sale. Where the new residence comes, there was a public washing place long ago. Until the 1950s, an industrial laundry was established, namely Laundry De Lelie, to which the new residence owes its name. In 1954, the De Coninck family bought the buildings and served as storage space for its sanitary business. "The first traces of houses in the street date back to the 14th century. Archaeological research and finds from, for example, beautiful floors, show that it was a street with stylish homes. When a railway was built in 1835, Mechelen had a population explosion and several plots of the Paardenstraatje were split up ", says Guido De Coninck, manager of Sanitair De Coninck.
